Music Composition
I composed the music for the BBC, Blink Ink and Sam Gainsborough’s latest clip, The Square Eyed Boy, part of the Young Families Campaign. I also produced an extended alt version of the track for the Behind The Scenes which you can watch below.
I used Shiela Dixon’s ‘e-ther’ digital theremin to create a creepy sci-fi theme for the square-eyedness referencing retro TV themes. To mirror the perspective change on the boy’s phone habits changes, I played the same melody over different chords reinterpreting the unusual theme as something more heart warming and homely. Each little moment in the clip has its own musical feature with a flourish over the dancers and the horns and strings in the climax to get the full David Attenborough feeling.
